Our promise to you:
You hire Scott.  You get Scott.
Personal attention, quality and value.

Did you know that many firms assign clients a lawyer that they never even met before?  They try to increase their profits and decrease their overhead by hiring or subcontracting to inexperienced beginner attorneys. At Lanin Law P.C., we will never delegate or subcontract cases to inexperienced attorneys.

Managing attorney Scott Lanin has been a lawyer since 1989.   For nearly 20 years, he has represented individuals and businesses in litigation, debtor/creditor matters (including collection), bankruptcy and foreclosure.  He has extensive business and real estate experience.  His individual clients have included homeowners and business owners all over New York, as well as bankrutpcy trustees.  His business clients have included banks, mortgage lenders, large corporations, and small businesses.   He also works with several other attorneys as co-counsel and of-counsel, on a case by case basis, so he has the ability to "staff up" when more legal manpower is needed. But he will never delegate your matter to someone else.  What does this mean to you?  It means you get the benefit of Scott's extensive legal experience to make sure your case is handled professionally and efficiently.

OF COUNSEL ATTORNEYS AND LAW FIRMS

Lanin Law P.C. has also formed strategic alliances with other highly qualified lawyers and professionals.  We have an extensive network of  colleagues that we consult with frequently.  Some share similar practice areas with us. Others specialize in different areas, including matrimonial and family law  and personal injury law. If you need an attorney or have a legal question, we encourage you to call us and inquire whether we can help you.  If you need legal assistance on a matter that we do not handle, we will do our best to refer you to a trusted colleague.

We also have the ability to quickly "staff up" if more legal manpower is needed for very large cases, although that is very rare.  We understand that most clients are cost-conscious and wish to limit legal expenses whenever possible.   Throughout New York, most routine litigation and bankruptcy cases are handled by one attorney and a paralegal because staffing a "team" of lawyers would be wasteful.  Nevertheless, we do and we can work with other attorneys as "of counsel" to my firm when it is necessary or desirable for our clients.

          OTHER PROFESSIONALS

We also work with other professionals whenever necessary to help protect our client's rights.  Some of these professionals include accountants and CPAs, valuation experts and appraisers, mortgage brokers, real estate brokers, and experts.

INTERNSHIPS - PARALEGALS AND LEGAL ASSISTANTS

Lanin Law P.C. also sponsors internships for paralegals and legal assistants with various schools throughout New York, including Paralegal training programs, Community Colleges, Universities and Law Schools.  If you are interested in applying for an internship with our firm, please email Attorney Scott Lanin to inquire.  Our internship offers students an excellent learning opportunity.  Interns gain hands-on experience drafting legal documents in word, wordperfect and/or excel and actually go to the local courts.  Computer skills are required but legal skills are not.  Interns will be trained and assisted and will find the experience a rewarding one.
